The 54 year old also uses her years of experience to guide her in finding that balance.

Anything you put your mind to is still possible.

The wellness trend I haven’t tried yet but want to:

For me, it’s just getting in nature and looking up at the sky.

You know what I mean?

Or it’s just looking up in the sky and decompressing.

A wellness practice you swear by that some might find “woo woo”

Music is a quick pick-me-up.

I’ll play my favorite song, or any song.

It could be one of my favorite rock songs.

It could be a ratchet, filthy song that you’re free to’t play around anybody.

It could be a gospel song, to swing in a whole different direction.

Music is the quickest wellness hack for me.

Your ideal wellness routine:

I can play any song.

It just clears the space in my mind and takes me somewhere emotional if I’m feeling numb.

Because people forget you might be numb, too.

Low-brow feel-good hack:

You get in the habit of numbing your feelings.

Sometimes you want to feel, and as an actor, you have to feel.

For example, when I have a crying scene, am I able to cry?

If I can’t, I’m cutting my emotions off.

I live for the thrill of things.

My father always told me that replying “no” is as strong as saying “yes.”

High-brow feel-good splurge:

It might just be some sound healing or something I can turn on and listen to.

It could be a yoga classsomething that’s helping me to breathe.

I feel it’s a year of yes for me, because I feel really strong this year.

The best way to describe your wellness vibe:

And I believe her.

If I have an opinion, I have an opinion.

Or if I don’t need to say anything, I don’t need to say anything.

Who you look to for advice:

It feels like a box to me.

Gratitude makes me get out of my own mind and think about someone else.

Being grateful or being of service to someone else.

Doing something for someone else for a second, something nice.

It’s can just be complimenting someone or doing something small to make someone else’s life easier.

It gets you out of your own head a little bit, making someone else’s day.

When you need to reset:

Music is always an escape for me.

Music is my home.

My home planet, I think.

Your current state of mind:

Always saying “yes!”

I was just getting to a point where I would have to step away and disappear.

And my mom was the only person who knew.

I needed to be taken care of in a different way.

I’d also say there’s nothing wrong with asking for help.

Your mental health focus right now:

We need help sometimes.

We are conditioned to think we don’t, but that’s not real.

I realized, “We need to all become a part of this.

When and where you feel the happiest:

We need to share schedules.

I need professionals to talk to me and explain how this goes.”

Sometimes, it was that someone else needed to work so I could just be a daughter that day.

Wellness advice you’ve received that…isn’t great:

Sometimes, you’ve got to just say, “This is doing me in.

I can’t carry this.

I’m falling and I need some help getting back up.”

So that’s what I did, and that’s what I do.

This slicked-back bun is the stuff of legends.

Nothing could have prepared me for her new look.

The thing you’d tell your younger self about wellness
